problem could be from somewhere else
so topic is opened for further updates
so far as we know its not a general problem but it happens for some of the players, maybe something geolocation based
for now whoever faces with that issue can continue play from a nonsteam client
will come back later with more information

your levels stays, make sure use correct nick. due to weird characters in your nick you are facing with that problem

i don't know if i'm the only one who not faces with that problem, i can't reproduce it with my 2 different steam account and location i never get that error
im using steam_legacy version
also theres no any plugin that connected to steam
